German carrier Deutsche Lufthansa AG completed the takeover of Austrian Airlines AG Thursday by signing final contracts in Vienna. With this deal, the Lufthansa group is to become Europe's biggest carrier, surpassing French-Dutch airline AirFrance-KLM in terms of passenger numbers.
